A KNOCK AT MIDNIGHT HIV CONFERENCE
The California State Conference of the NAACP, the National Council of Negro Women Inc. Southern California Area and Women Alive Coalition, Inc. Los Angeles will host a HIV Prevention Summit June 4 at Holman United Methodist Church 3320 W. Adams Blvd Los Angeles , CA 90018 , from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. The summit is entitled a “Knock at Midnight.”
Carolynn Martin-Person, President, National Council of Negro Women Inc. Southern California Area
Carolynn Martin-Person is currently the president of the View Park Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. Southern California Area. She is and has always been a community advocate and activist and is dedicated to the mission of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. She currently works in the field of HIV/AIDS as a Program Director and brings this expertise to NCNW. NCNW has a world wide interest in the effects of HIV/AIDS on communities of color and this focus is locally supported by View Park. Mrs. Martin-Person is also the Co-Chair for the National Black HIV AIDS Awareness Day Coalition Los Angeles. She is the mother of four adult children and grandmother of fifteen.

Carrie Broadus, Executive Director, Women Alive
Women Alive has a goal of bringing women affected and infected with HIV/AIDS out of isolation through information, encouragement and emotional support. Project Description: In July of 1993 Being Alive (People with HIV/AIDS Action Coalition), branched off into women specific issues by starting a newsletter. From there, an organization to serve women affected and infected with HIV was founded. Women Alive is a volunteer organization that meets the needs of women who have isolated themselves because of the virus.
