For 25 years, the African Marketplace Inc has been one of the premier national and international cultural arts organizations dedicated, to people of African descent in Los Angeles.  The celebration is slated to continue in 2010 with the The African Marketplace and Cultural Faire August 27 through September 6.  Once again the African Marketplace will celebrate the African Diaspora in the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, the Pacific Rim, North America, Latin America and Mexico

James Burkes is the founder of the African Marketplace Inc. and the Special Projects Director for the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.

Gail Deculus-Johnson is the owner of Sable Images, is a vanguard American who collect objects in one of the most provocative areas of collecting in America – Black Memorabilia. She is a longtime vender with the African Marketplace and helped to spearhead the Friends of the African Marketplace.
